I really wanted to like this book as I had liked previous books by this author. The story started to drag with a repetitive theme of guilt about half way through. By the time I was two-thirds of the way through for more of the same, I started to lose interest in the characters.I just could not to relate to the characters and while the "danger" elements of the story rang true, the description of the danger was not clearly identified so that, other than representing a vague threat, it didn't engender a strong element of risk. It rang through as a melodrama and I found myself skimming so that I could race through to the end.
I will try another Cali MacKay book because I really liked her earlier books but I cannot recommend this one.

I just fell in love with Ethan and Sophie! What a wonderful true love story that could make it through tough times. Great job Cali MacKay!
you need to read this series it is very hot and wet and will keep the jucies flowing and will keep you wanting more and the story line isn't bad either, loved it Cali hope their is more to come......
I've read most of Cali MacKay's books and this one just didn't excite me like the others. I just didn't like the female character, i feel like she was overall dramatic and stubborn. She blamed everything on the male character. But i'm sure i will continue to read the author's other adventurous novels.
A conflicted romance between three people. Plenty of suspense and tension as the heroine is on the run from a corporation involved in violence. Maybe it is timing but for some reason this story could not hold my interest.
I have liked her other books, but this one was making me angry in the middle. Sophie just keeps going on and on about it would not work between them, she has to leave, she is putting him at risk, she has to leave, her life is in turmoil, she has to leave, etc etc. The storyline was dragging in the middle because of all the repetitiveness.
If I were looking to read this author, I would choose a different one.
It was, a good series with a decent plot to each story. However... Actual people from the states dont usually say things like "cheeky, ot end a sentence with a question, Yeah? For that reason I felt like this author should stick to her origins when writing stories from

Ethan is a real standup guy , who was best friends with Sophie since they were children. Sophie was engaged to Jake (Ethan best friend) when she cheated on him with Ethan. Ethan had always loved Sophie but that night they parted to not see each other for 3 years . Sophie was in danger and came to Maine to warn her old friend. They find each other again. Loved the story but the ending was rushed.
