Slave soon conquers master as the fires of passion bring them closer. A force of wills clash and a tragic circumstance drives them apart.

No. Just no. Could not even come close to finishing this one...barely made it through 5 chapters thinking the whole time it's got to get better because it can't get worse. I was a bit confused by the reviews but decided to form my own opinion as I have on many books. The reviews that call this book entertaining...yikes!! There's violence from the beginning, most of which is fairly accurate to the 800's. *spoiler* The rape, beating, suicide of a a servant nearly did me in sooner, remember I only read through chapter five. The willy nilly attitude of the "hero" towards forcing himself on the "heroine"...yet repeatedly making unwanted advances, ridiculous. Actually his attitude as a whole is lacking. The constant repetition of the exact same phrases was beyond annoying, junky & completely unnecessary. Grammatical errors were minor compared to some ebooks. There were times I was sure I must have missed something as the story flow was nonexistent.

A Viking Love Viking Horde Book 1 edition by Karolyn Cairns Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
A great book to learn the life of a viking clan and their way of life and belief. An English woman tried to mold the viking to her way of life. The viking won but with compromise. There are treaserous going on to disrupt everyone life style and honor.
I didn't want to put this book down to do anything else. You kept me interested from the beginning to the end. It shows true love can get you through anything if you want it. Keep writing and I'll keep reading. What a great partnership this can be!!!
Fan of early Connie mason, Kathleen woodiwiss, or Johanna Lindsey? If so you will love this! Went into this not expecting much, but from the first chapter, couldn’t put it down. Laughed, nearly cried, so much emotion with this story. Have to discover more of this author!
Having just discovered this author, this is her second book I have read. The beautiful Alisande is brutally betrayed by the men in her life. Her noble father betrays the Vikings and his own people, and flees leaving his family to face a Viking attack. She is then taken for ransom by the Vikings. Johar with little regard takes her to chieftain Ivar, who forces her to fight for her life as a slave in a pit against another hulking Viking. Johan, and others abuse her as she is forced to be a slave.
A very authentic portrayal of the harsh conditions of the times.
I. gave this book three stars because I liked the love story between the hero and heroine. However, the book needs a serious edit. Far too many grammatical errors, misspellings, and repeated phrases, often within the same paragraph. I also did not like the repeated rape scenes. While I realize the Times were rough, no heroine should have to endure rape by most of the men she meets whether foe or not. In my opinion the book went far past what should have been the end of the book. The rest could have been placed in a sequel.
H abducts h, humiliates her, and repeatedly RAPES her! I couldn't finish it. Absolutely disgusting. Disturbing that this was classified as a romance.
I have been an avid reader for many decades. I enjoy a varied genre of writings. But I must declare, upon finishing this book I can truly say with all conviction that this has been my favorite of all fictions I've read to date. This is a book to be read and enjoyed thoroughly. I would give it ten stars if I could. It does contain adult situations that could be disturbing to some, but its historic recounting is brutal as well as truthful of the lives and lifestyles lived out in those during this timeline.
